Taken from the mound on the 07 approach into Coningsby. This particular aircraft (ZE449) has a unusual history. It was not ordered by the UK and was infact in the service of the Argentine armed forces up until 1982. It was captured relatively intact during the recapture of the Falkland Islands and after a rebuild to RAF standards was placed in UK service. Besides the out of sequence serial, this airframe appears exactly the same as regular RAF Pumas. Some years after this picture was taken the aircraft was written off.
