They didn't remain unmarked for long though once shut down on the Yeovilton apron. One of the guys from VAS soon appeared with some 800 NAS decals to remind the RAF who flys these Harriers once they return to Cottesmore! Having seen Harriers marked up with FAA markings before for brief periods, I had a theory that the RAF and FAA units at Cottesmore attempted to 'adopt' Harriers when their rivals are away.
