Taken on Friday the 3rd of October, 86-0182 was one of several 493rd FS jet's operating with the tanks removed, which usually is a sign of them flying short endurance, basic ACM sorties. What I didn't know was that five days later, 86-0182 would crash during one such sortie in a Lincolnshire field, fortunately after the pilot had ejected.
