Legend has it did happen, although nationality escapes me, but a Phantom has tried to take off with it's wings folded. Only saw this the once as the hardened shelters were large enough to take a Phantom with its wings unfolded - think they could actually take two. This is the 74 Sqn OC's jet as it has the Wg Cdrs pendant under the front canopy and ZE350/T was the first jet in the sequence (the early F-4J codes spelt TIGERSQN).
