Note the outline of the 1435 Flt Maltese Cross catching the light on the fin of ZK300 below. This was added for a few days before the Typhoon's departed to the Falklands in 2009. That jet was intended to be one of the airframes sent but last minute faults meant it was replaced upon departure. The aircraft was then assigned to 6 Sqn, but has recently returned to Coningsby and issued to 11 Sqn, despite flying with 3(F) Sqn when photographed! It's done better than the air spare for the Falklands deployment - ZJ945 disappeared into the big BAe maintenance hangar upon it's return in 2009, and has never flown since.
