Are the RAF really a 'brand' that requires a marketing logo?

This new RAF anniversary logo 'sticker' has started to appear on many aircraft in recent months, including some absurd examples like underneath the extremely large 'Royal Air Force' text on C-17s! It's appearance on frontline fast jets (even OCU aircraft) seems out of place. By all means apply a special paint job, but a tacky looking sticker?? If rumours that the Typhoon's skin is so sensitive that repaints are a definite no-no, then leave the logo's to MacDonald's please.
