Strange one this, but when a 100th ARW tanker launched out of Mildenhall on this friday morning most of the enthusiasts around the base in the know were praying it would go unserviceable and come back. 'Quid 71' was tanking a B-1 returning from deployment directly back to the US and Mildenhall is usually used as a diversion by the receiver when these refuelling sorties are unsuccessful - which is actually fairly frequent. All that week the rumour was that a pair of B-1s returning home would stage through Mildenhall on the friday due to the shortage of available tankers, so when this one launched and his reciever was overheard to be 'Rama' (usual B-1 callsign), hopes tumbled...
